On Monday, January 4, 2021 at 3:16 AM, our beloved mother, grandmother and sister SanJuana Sustaita Gomez, "Janie" was called home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Friday, January 8, 2021 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Due to COVID-19 concerns masks will be required and social distancing observed. The service will be live streamed by going to www.robertmassie.com and clicking on the livestream link on her obituary.

Janie was born March 12, 1948 to Viviano Sustaita and Eluteria Calderon in Austin. She was raised in Lamesa where she attended school and worked for the Headstart school system for over 38 years as a Teacher's Aid, Teacher, and a Social Worker. She moved to San Angelo in 2006 after retiring from Headstart in order to be closer to her grandchildren. While in San Angelo she worked for the San Angelo Independent School District in the nutrition department at Glenn Middle School and Lincoln Middle School where she made lifelong friends and retired in December of 2020. Janie had many hobbies which included sewing, coloring, word search and of course figuring out social media. Her life's passion was teaching children making them laugh and being a loving figure to each and every one of them.

Janie is preceded in death by her parents, Viviano and Eluteria Sustaita; siblings, Ernest and Alicia Sustaita; and great grandson, Alexander King Niavez. She is survived by her two sons, Edward Uresti and wife Liz of San Angelo, Rafael Uresti and wife Michelle of San Angelo; grandchildren, Marcus and wife Christina, Jonathon and fiance Celeste, Gabriela, John, Robert, Joe, Jeremiah, Jessica, Gabriel; and a great grandson Camdyn; other survivors include, Gloria Luna of Lamesa, Guadalupe Barron of Lubbock, Esmeralda Esparza of Midland, Francis Perez of Lubbock, Rudy Sustaita of Monahans, Richard Sustaita of Lubbock, and Andy Sustaita of Granbury.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Marcus Uresti, Jonathon Uresti, Gabriela Hernandez, John Hernandez, Robert Ruiz, Joe Zuniga, Jessica Lopez and Gabriel Uresti.
