Granbury ISD School Bus Hits, Kills 5-Year-Old Student

 

GRANBURY, TX — A 5-year-old student at Emma Roberson Early Learning Academy died Monday morning after being hit by a Granbury ISD school bus, district officials confirmed.

The fatal incident occurred in Hood County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Granbury ISD Superintendent Courtney Morawski notified parents in a letter, stating that the district is working with law enforcement to investigate.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of one of our students,” Morawski said. “Please join me in keeping the family and our schools in your thoughts and prayers during this devastating time.”

No other students were injured in the incident, according to the district. The school is offering counseling services for students and parents in need of support.

Authorities have not released details about the circumstances of the accident. The district said it will provide updates as more information becomes available.
