A white Dodge Caliber turned in front of a black Ford F-150 at approximately 2 p.m. this afternoon, leading to traffic mayhem on Johnson St. at University Ave.
According to San Angelo Police Traffic Investigator Ed Hunger, the white Caliber was southbound and the black F-150 was northbound in the outside lane, both on Johnson St. near Angelo State University.
The driver of the Caliber decided to turn left onto University in front of the F-150. The F-150 collided with the Caliber, sending the Caliber into a third vehicle that Hunger described was a GMC pickup.
Witnesses on the scene gave conflicting testimony as to whether or not the Caliber driver had the right-of-way. No citations were issued, Hunger said.
The ASU police assisted at the crash scene. University Ave. was closed in the direction of Glenn Middle School as well as one lane of Johnson St. while the scene was cleared. The GMC pickup was able to drive away from the scene after police cleared the driver.
