DPS Identifies Both Drivers in Deadly Wrong-Way Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the names of the two drivers involved in a fatal wrong-way crash Wednesday night on U.S. 87 that killed a 51-year-old Eden woman and seriously injured a San Angelo resident.

According to DPS, Aleasa Ogle, 51, of Eden, died at the scene after her 2022 Nissan Rogue was struck head-on by a GMC Canyon pickup driven by Angelica Diaz, 26, of San Angelo. Ogle was pronounced deceased by Judge Thomas Daniels.

Diaz, who sustained incapacitating injuries, was transported to Shannon Medical Center by air. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The crash occurred at 9:20 p.m. on Dec. 10, approximately 7.5 miles southeast of San Angelo. Preliminary findings indicate Diaz was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 87 when she collided with Ogle’s vehicle.

DPS reported clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the crash. The crash was investigated by Trooper Solis of the Texas Highway Patrol, with support from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and the Wall Volunteer Fire Department.
