Brahden Tibbs, 26, of San Angelo, has been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful carrying of a firearm, and driving while intoxicated.

According to court documents, at about 6 p.m. Nov. 13, 2024, the investigator and other deputies were dispatched to Loop 306 regarding a disturbance. Dispatch advised that a male subject, identified as Tibbs, was operating a blue Chevrolet Silverado. Tibbs allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and threatened him.

The investigator spoke with the victim, who said he and Tibbs almost crashed into each other while they both were traveling southbound on South Bryant Boulevard. When they stopped at a red light, Tibbs allegedly produced a tan firearm and pointed it at the victim. Then, Tibbs stated, “What the (expletive), you almost hit me, go home before you’re never able to go home again and I put (you) in the dirt.”

Deputies later located Tibbs traveling westbound on FM 2105 near Grape Creek Road. Tibbs also said he and the victim were nearly in a crash on South Bryant Boulevard. When they came to a red light and stopped, he stated he held the firearm in the low ready position. He had the gun pointed towards the victim then told him to, “Go home.”

Tibbs allegedly confirmed that he had a firearm in his possession, and a tan gun was located in his center console. The investigator could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Tibbs’ breath, and multiple open containers were found on the front and back passenger floorboard of Tibbs’ vehicle. Tibbs was asked to perform a field sobriety test but refused. He was then arrested and transported to the Tom Green County Jail. He was booked for driving while intoxicated, unlawful carrying of a firearm, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Tibbs is currently in the Tom Green County Jail on $1,500 bond.
