Reagan County Sheriff’s Office Confirms No Threat to Schools

BIG LAKE, TX – The Reagan County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed there was never a threat made to the Reagan County School District following an investigation on Sept. 15.

Sheriff Jeff Garner, along with three deputies, conducted the investigation after a social media post resurfaced regarding a previous threat in the Midland-Odessa area. Local authorities in those communities were notified as a precaution.

Texas Peace Officers worked closely with school officials during the investigation to ensure any potential threat was thoroughly examined and taken seriously. Law enforcement was present at the school the following morning to reassure parents of their continued commitment to student safety.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that schools should be places for learning, not fear, and urged the community to work together to maintain safety.
