Four Tractor-Trailers Catch Fire in Odessa

 

ODESSA, TX — Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a fire early Saturday morning on the 2600 block of Charway Road, where four tractor-trailers were found engulfed in flames, with a fifth vehicle starting to ignite.

This happened just before 1 a.m., and crews deployed two preconnects to extinguish the fire.

Fortunately, all of the trucks were unoccupied at the time.

Fire safety for tractor-trailers involves preventive measures and knowing how to respond in an emergency.

Tips include:

  • Regular maintenance
  • Remove grease and debris from the engine
  • Have a fire extinguisher
  • Check tires are properly inflated
  • Monitor temperature
  • Secure cargo
  • Park away from flammable materials
