City of San Angelo Replacing Water Meters

SAN ANGELO, TX — The City of San Angelo has initiated a project to replace water meters across the city, contracting with Core & Main for the task.

The replacement process will involve every City of San Angelo water customer by the project’s completion in September 2027.

City officials assure residents that no action is required on their part, and the work is designed to be minimally disruptive.

Each water meter replacement is expected to take less than 30 minutes. During the replacement, contractors will test an outside faucet to ensure water is functioning and check the water pressure at each address.

The city’s existing water meter infrastructure, which has been in place for over a decade, is being upgraded to new meters to "ensure continued accuracy and performance over the life of the meter."

Residents are advised not to move or tamper with the water meters or boxes, as only City employees or Core & Main contractors are authorized to turn the water on or off.

Workers from Core & Main can be identified by their neon green shirts.

For any issues or additional information, customers can contact the Water Customer Service Office at 325-657-4323.
