LUBBOCK, TXβFor the fourth straight year, the Angelo State Rams are headed back to the NCAA Division II College World Series. After a rough loss in Game 2 to Lubbock Christian on Saturday, May 25, the Rams overcame the outing with a huge victory in Game 3 to send the Rams to Cary, NC, 17-4.
- Game 1: Angelo State 7 LCU 6 (10 Innings)
- Game 2: Angelo State 12 LCU 25
- Game 3: Angelo State 17 LCU 4
Angelo State did not let a 13-run loss in Game 2 deter the Rams from victory. In Game 3, the Rams displayed resilience to wake up the defense that allowed 25 runs in the previous contest and held the Chaps to just four runs in the final game.
Alezeah Garcia led the way for Angelo State on the mound with a complete performance that allowed those four runs. He finished his Super Regional performance with four hits allowed, three walks, and six strikeouts.
On offense, the Rams scored early often, highlighted by Christian Garnette's first home run of the season on a three-run shot in the top of the 3rd inning. Kamden Kelton led the offense on Saturday evening with three hits, four RBIs, and one run scored by himself.
Next up, the Rams head to Cary, NC, to play in the NCAA Division II World Series from June 1-10.
