Major Crash on Bryant and 7th St. Creates Chaos in San Angelo

A major accident off of Bryant and 7th St., close to the Houston Harte Freeway, had motorists, San Angelo Police Department and emergency responders scrambling Wednesday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m. after a driver of a white Ford F-350 Crew Cab 4x4 slammed into the driver of a red Chevrolet Silverado.

Ed Hunger, traffic investigator with the San Angelo Police Department said the driver of the white Ford pickup was driving northbound on Bryant and about to make a left turn onto 7th St. as the red Chevrolet Silverado drove southbound when the crash occurred.

"Both drivers had a green light; however, the white pickup failed to yield the right of way turning left and hit the side of the Chevy," Hunger said. He also added that the female driver, name unknown, had to be extracted from the vehicle by San Angelo Fire Department officials, which took approximately 25 minutes. She was taken to Shannon Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford F-350 was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way turning left. "He said he just didn't see her coming," Hunger added.

At this time, all but one of the southbound lanes on Bryant are blocked until the crash site is cleaned up.

What are you craaazzzy!, I can't put down this phone, I am a slave to it and cannot for any reason put it down. Do you know what would happened if I don't look at my phone at least every 2 seconds!!! Do you?!! I will miss a "whatcha doing" or a "hi" or even a "see ya later". I don't have the self control I used to have, I am a sick person.

Suspend the license of the driver of the white Ford pickup pending the results of an eye test. There is no excuse for not seeing the bright red Chevrolet Silverado.

I sure hope Intrepid Electric has a 100% face-to-face meeting with their drivers ... 100% attention to the road folks .

That is all ...

This is where the young man that attended Lake View was killed a while back.

The way the south bound trafiic is hauling tail if you are turning left going north bound, you think you have time and guess what you don't.

I have almost had a wreck there several times.

They need to change the lights up . No left turn on solid green... Make the delay from Red to Green for the south bound traffic a lot and I mean a lot longer. Reduce the speed starting at RJ's BBQ by at least 10 mph to 35 or 40.

I know the guy turning left screwed up, but that is a DANGEROUS intersection!!!
