SAN ANGELO, TX - A crash this Wednesday morning sent three people to the hospital.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of US-277 and Grand Canal Road.
It was between a silver Chevy Tahoe and a black Toyota Camry.
Witnesses told the San Angelo Police Department that the Toyota was heading east on Grand Canal Road, and the Chevy was heading north on US-277.
The investigator said that the Toyota failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign, pulling out into the intersection where the Chevy crashed into the driver’s side of the Toyota at highway speeds.
The Toyota had two passengers, while the Chevy only had one. All of them were taken to Shannon Medical Services for treatment. None of the injuries seemed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the Toyota will receive a citation for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign.
The San Angelo Fire Department did have to use the Jaws of Life to cut the doors off the Toyota to get the driver out.
The crash is still under investigation.
