SAN ANGELO, TX — Two senior citizens were swiftly transported to Shannon Medical Center after a 32-year-old female driver turned her Chevrolet Traverse in front of their Jeep on Sherwood Way.
San Angelo police traffic investigators reported that the driver of the white Chevrolet Traverse was traveling eastbound on Sherwood Way when she made a left turn onto Sunset without yielding to oncoming traffic, causing the collision. Traveling westbound was a 66-year-old man with a 68-year-old woman as his passenger in a green Jeep SUV. The two vehicles collided in the middle of the westbound lanes, resulting in a traffic bottleneck.
Emergency services rushed the two occupants of the Jeep to Shannon Medical Center, where they were treated for what appeared to be minor injuries. The 32-year-old female driver was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m., and by 6:15 p.m., the wreckage had been cleared. The weather conditions were cloudy, and the roadway was dry at the time of the incident
