WALL, TX — Just days after Wall High School's athletic director, Jeremy Williams, retired, there might be another coaching change coming to the Wall Hawks.
A source close to the school administration in Wall confirmed, but not on record that Head Football Coach Houston Guy told his team earlier this week that he would no longer be the coach. The reason Guy is out at Wall has yet to be confirmed, but the long-time head coach might be retiring.
We tried confirming multiple other reports coming in from various sources but could not get in contact with the school or the administration.
The Wall Hawks finished their 2023 campaign with an 11-3 overall record and fell in the Regional final for the second year in a row against Canadian. Despite playing much better than the Hawks did a year ago, Wall still fell in the end. Canadian lost in the State Semifinal game to the eventual state-champion Gunter Tigers the following week.
The news comes as a shock to everyone. The Concho Valley's most winningest coach is stepping aside; no one can tell us why.
