Angelo State’s Parrish Named Regional Volleyball Player of the Year

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State junior volleyball player Madi Parrish was named the South Central Regional Player of the Year on Wednesday by both the American Volleyball Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners' Association.

Parrish, an outside hitter from Saginaw, is the first Rambelle to be named Regional Player of the Year since Kailyn Gilbreath in 2021.

Parrish was a second-team All-American last season when she led ASU to the national semifinals. She has the Belles back at the regional tournament as the No 3 seed. Their regional opener is set for 2:30 p.m. today against No. 6 Lubbock Christian in Denver.

Parrish has recorded 1,142 kills in her ASU career, which puts her 10th in program history. She is also 14th in school history with 103 aces.

She is only the sixth ASU player to record 1,000 kills and 100 aces.
