Driver’s Failure to Control Speed Causes Three-Car Accident

A female driver of a Chevy Silverado was cited with a failure to control speed Friday morning after causing a three-car accident at the 2500 block of West Avenue N.

SAPD Traffic Investigator Officer Brian Bylsma, who was dispatched to the scene, said the accident occurred because the driver of the Chevy Silverado looked in her rearview mirror to change lanes but failed to see the car in front of her. She hit the silver Ford Escape, and as a result, the driver hit the car in front of her and got “sandwiched” between both vehicles.

All three people claimed minor injuries but refused medical attention. The driver of the Chevy Silverado was cited for failure to control speed. The driver of the Ford Escape received a citation for no seatbelt.
