Pedestrian Killed Near I-20 Frontage Road in Midland Saturday

A pedestrian was killed between Odessa and Midland early Saturday morning.

According to the Texas DPS, James Lynn Belvin was walking along South CR 1310 near the I-20 frontage road at 12:35 a.m. Saturday.

A man driving a Ford F-350 southbound on South CR 1310 didn’t see the pedestrian and struck him. The Ford driver was identified as 22-year-old Adrian Hipolito, Jr. of Laredo.

Midland County Justice of the Peace Joe Matlock pronounced Belvin, 50, of Odessa dead at the scene.

DPS reported that the roadway was dry and the skies were clear. Based upon the time of the accident, it was dark. The speed limit along that stretch of road is 55 mph, DPS reported.
