SAN ANGELO – New fishing regulations are now in effect and apply to rivers and lakes around San Angelo.
According to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. Inland Fisheries San Angelo Division, new fishing regulations are in effect and we have a few that apply to waters in the San Angelo District. Remember to purchase your 2023-2024 fishing license (age 17 and older) and review the TPWD outdoor annual to know the fishing regulations on the waters where you like to fish.
1. Lake Nasworthy
- NEW REGULATION: Largemouth Bass - 14 inch minimum length limit with a 5 fish daily bag (statewide regulations), effective Sept. 1, 2023. (this replaces the 14-18 inch slot limit).
2. Community Fishing Lakes (CFL's)
A CFL is any public water 75 acres or less that are completely within a city limit, municipal, county park. That would include the Concho River in downtown San Angelo and Spring Creek at Foster Park.
- NEW REGULATION: Daily bag limit of 5 (all species combined) with 1 black bass 14 inches or greater in length.
