ARLINGTON— A former Dallas Cowboy superstar is being inducted into the team’s Ring on Honor this season.

Former Cowboy defensive end and National Football League Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware will be inducted into the Dallas Cowboy’s Ring of Honor during the 2023 NFL season. He will be the 23rd member of the Cowboy’s Ring on Honor and is one of the best Cowboys to ever play.

Over his career with the Cowboys and Denver Broncos, Ware compiled 138.5 sacks, 505 tackles, 171 tackles for loss, 35 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, three interceptions, and two touchdowns. Ware also won a Super Bowl with the Broncos when they played the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

Ware now joins Bob Hayes, Bob Lilly, Charles Haley, Chuck Howley, Cliff Harris, Darren Woodson, Don Meredith, Don Perkins, Drew Pearson, Emmitt Smith, Gil Brandt, Larry Allen, Lee Roy Jordan, Mel Renfro, Michael Irvin, Randy White, Rayfield Wright, Roger Staubach, Tex Schramm, Tom Landry, Tony Dorsett, and Troy Aikman in the Dallas Cowboy Ring of Honor.

Ware was drafted by the Cowboys in 2005 in a monster defensive draft brought the team not only Ware, but defensive end Marcus Spears, linebacker Kevin Burnett, defensive end Chris Canty, and defensive tackle Jay Ratliff. On March 11, 2014, the Cowboys released Ware only for him to sign with the Broncos one day later.

The game that Ware will be inducted in has not been released but it will happen before he receives his Hall of Fame ring when the Cowboys take on the Seattle Seahawks on November 30, 2023.
