Landfill Closed Until Monday Because of Storm

SAN ANGELO – Downed trees and tree limbs litter San Angelo neighborhoods Saturday in the aftermath of that severe thunderstorm system that wreaked havoc Friday night with high winds, torrential rain, hail, lightning and flooding.

Residents across town are cleaning up debris from the storm and need to take the refuse to the landfill, but it is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Here's the latest from the City:

Please note that the landfill is closed today as a result of the storm. Citizens may dispose of tree limbs on Monday but must present their utility bill for the once-monthly free drop-off at the landfill — this includes tree branches from Friday night's storm. County residents may deliver items at no charge once per month by providing their electric bill.

Citizens may also utilize the bulk pickup for tree limbs. Please do your best to bundle them in around 4-foot lengths.
