SAN ANGELO, TX — On Thursday, March 23, Texas UIL Soccer playoffs begin for San Angelo. Four of our teams will represent their high schools in Andrews tomorrow to play four back-to-back games starting at 1 p.m.
SAN ANGELO CENTRAL BOBCATS VS EL PASO EASTLAKE
The Bobcats take on the El Paso Eastlake at 1 p.m. Central snuck into the playoffs when they claimed the 4th and final sport in District 2-6A. They have a tough battle ahead of them as Eastlake is a 1-seed coming out of their district.
NO. 19 LAKE VIEW CHIEFS VS EL PASO RIVERSIDE
After the Chiefs finished their season undefeated, claimed their district championship, and secured the 1-seed, Lake View travels to Andrews to play the 4-seed El Paso Riverside at 3 p.m. Head Coach Matthew Jones says that the Chiefs have a tough matchup on their hands, but he’s confident in Lake View’s ability to win.
NO. 23 LAKE VIEW MAIDENS VS EL PASO IRVIN
The Maidens matched the boys’ team this year and also claimed their district championship after finishing district play 11-1. They also secured the 1-seed and face the 4-seed El Paso Irvin in Andrews on Thursday at 5 p.m.
SAN ANGELO CENTRAL LADY CATS VS EL PASO EASTWOOD
The Lady Cats did enough this season to capture the 3-seed in their district. They travel to Andrews on Thursday to play El Paso Eastwood at 7 p.m. Eastwood already has eliminated both the Football team and the Boy’s Basketball team so far this year, so let’s see the Lady Cats finally break the curse of Eastwood.
