SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man finally accepted a plea deal Monday after years of court hearings.
According to court documents, on Jan. 31, John David Acosta, 42, pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and evading arrest. In exchange for the guilty plea, Acosta will spend the next 10 years in a Texas prison.
The robbery took place on Feb. 13, 2018. Acosta, and a crew full of people robbed a house in the 100 block of N Van Buren St. During the robbery Acosta and the others barged into the home armed with a shotgun and stole a number of items including multiple cell phones, MacBooks, and knives.
Acosta was identified and captured after surveillance footage showed him at the scene.
Acosta was indicted in Apr. 2018. After years of court hearings, Acosta finally accepted a plea deal.
He will now remain in the Tom Green County Detention Facility until he is transferred to a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison to complete his sentence.
