SEMINOLE, TX – Two men were killed on Monday morning after the driver ran a stop sign on a county road intersection.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Dec. 27 at a around 8:45 a.m., troopers with the DPS were dispatched to the intersection of CR 205 and CR 206 for the report of a major crash.
When the troopers arrived, they discovered one vehicle, occupied by two people, had been struck by another vehicle, occupied by one person.
The two occupants in the first vehicle, Marcus Hernandez, 22, and Jerry Cornett, 66, both of Seminole, died in the crash. They were both wearing their seatbelt.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the crash.
The initial investigation revealed that the first vehicle ran a stop sign while heading northbound through the intersection. The other vehicle was heading east at the time of the crash.
