SAN ANGELO, TX – A spilled Dr. Pepper caused a wild crash in a quiet San Angelo neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
According to Officer Welch with the San Angelo Police Department, on Sep. 16 at around 2 p.m., officers with the SAPD and EMS with the San Angelo Fire Department were dispatched to the unit block of Southridge Dr. for the report of a major crash involving one vehicle and a tree.
When they arrived, the crew found a Subaru Legacy that had crashed into a tree and a sign in front of the subdivision. The officer claimed the driver was attempting to turn off of Valleyview onto Southridge Dr. to enter into the Southridge subdivision.
"From what she told me, she spilled her Dr. Pepper, leaned over to pick it up, and instead of hitting the breaks she hit the gas," said Welch. "That sent her straight forward and then somehow she launched herself in-between the tree and the sign for the complex."
The woman had a laceration on her head and was treated at the scene. She refused to be taken to the hospital by ambulance and instead she went to the hospital via private vehicle. Officer welch confirmed that the head trauma was not major.
The driver was cited for failure to control speed.

If you don't know how to spell words correctly, perhaps being a writer is a bad idea. "From what she told me, she spilled her Dr. Pepper, leaned over to pick it up, and instead of hitting the breaks she hit the gas," You've used the wrong word in this quote. To stop or slow a moving vehicle one would hit the BRAKES. UGH!!!!
