Ice Cancels Meals for the Elderly Deliveries

Meals For The Elderly is closing Monday, Feb. 23 due to the icy conditions of roadways and sidewalks making it unsafe for door-to-door meal delivery and travel in some parts of San Angelo. The office will be open again tomorrow, Feb. 24, with regular business hours unless otherwise directed as conditions for tomorrow become clear.

Seniors have already been provided for in advance of this unscheduled closure. Meals For The Elderly clients receive emergency meal kits each year to use in case of bad weather which hold several meals’ worth of non-perishable food items. When those are used up, we send out emergency frozen meals to keep on-hand in situations like this to ensure they are provided for in advance.

Any additional information or questions can be directed to Marketing Director Becca Edens at [email protected] or via the organization’s Facebook page.

Please share this information with anyone who can spread the word. Meals For The Elderly has over 650 seniors receiving services at this time.
