San Angelo Police Release New Details in Motorcycle Crash

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department has released new details in the crash that shut down N. Bryant for several hours.

According to officials, at approximately 1:59 a.m. on Friday officers were dispatched to the 200 block of N Koenigheim for calls of a major motor vehicle accident.

According to a witness at the scene, 28-year-old Anthony Padilla was driving a passenger car and racing 28-year-old Keifer Ekert who was traveling on a motorcylce. Ekert lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.  

When officers arrived at the scene they provided first aid to Ekert until EMS arrived.

Ekert was then transported to Shannon Medical Center with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown at this time.

Padilla was subsequently arresred for Driving While Intoxicated. His bond has been set at $1,000.
