Teen Killed In Fatal High Speed 4th of July Crash

 

ANSON, TX – The Department of Public Safety has confirmed a 19-year-old man was killed in a 4th of July crash in Jones County.

According to DPS, Robert Ybarra was traveling in a 2013 Nissan Juke on US-83 in Jones County when his vehicle veered into the median.

The Juke then vaulted over a creek and struck a bank on the opposite side.

The force of the crash caused Ybarra to be ejected from the vehicle. DPS confirmed Ybarra was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and he died at the scene.

According to DPS, Ybarra's girlfriend, an 18-year-old female, was seriously injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital.

Ybarra was a graduate of Hawley High School.
