Bonneville Full of Children Involved in Early Morning Rollover Crash

A black Chevrolet Camaro with dealer tags was involved in a crash that caused a rollover of a Pontiac Bonneville just after 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The Bonneville came to a rest upside down in the crash. There were children in the Bonneville, as witnesses by our reporter at the scene.

Luckily, it appears that there were no serious injuries.

Texas DPS is investigating the crash that happened at the 7200 block of U.S. 87 north, near the Texas A&M Ag Research Center.

Update 10:00 a.m.

According to the DPS, a black Camaro southbound on U.S. 87 about ½ mile south of the Grape Creek Road intersection.

The Camaro driver noticed the gold Pontiac Bonneville parked on side of road.

So she moved over into inside lane and slowed down as she passed.

Next thing the black Camaro remembers is getting hit broadside and going into a side-skid. When the Camaro came to a stop, the driver looked back and saw the Pontiac rolled-over.

Inside the Bonneville was an adult female driver with four children passengers, one of whom was a nine-month-old infant.

DPS issued the Bonneville driver two citations. One was for driving with no valid driver’s license, and a second for failure to maintain a single lane on the highway.

The crash happened at 7:50 a.m. and Trooper Robert Aldrete was the investigator.
