EARLY, TX – A hit and run crash Monday in Early, TX left a 15-year-old so injured that she was transported by helicopter to a Ft. Worth hospital.
According to the Early Police Department, on Apr. 19, officers with the EPD were dispatched to the Heartland Mall entrance on Highway 183 North for the report of a crash.
When they arrived they discovered that one of the vehicles, later identified as a Chevrolet Tahoe, had fled the scene.
The other vehicle, a pickup, had a father and daughter from San Saba inside. Due to the crash the 15-year-old girl was airlifted to Cooks Children’s Hospital in Ft. Worth.
Several witnesses on scene were able to identify the Tahoe and even had the license plate number. Officers were able to find the Tahoe at the OYO Hotel just a few miles away from the crash scene. The driver of the brown Tahoe, Abigayle Lynn Ryan, a 21-year-old female from Brownwood was placed under arrest for Accident involving personal injury, a 3rd degree felony.
It is unknown the condition of the daughter. EPD stated that the father was treated on scene by lifeguard EMS but refused transport so he could be with his daughter.
EPD believes that the Tahoe exited the mall parking lot at high rate of speed and struck a pickup traveling northbound on Highway 183.

Unless it is to save a life, they should make it an automatic one year in jail for anyone leaving the scene of an accident. This behavior has become way too common. If a lowlife can't stay to help someone out of decency then maybe they will out of fear.
