Tom Green County's Troubled Youth Getting Set to go to Big Boy Jail

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Three members of San Angelo's youth are learning that breaking the law comes with consequences. 

Malachi Rock, 18, will be spending the next five years and change in prison after he pleaded guilty to a number of crimes including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a number of drugs with intent to sell them. 

The drug charges stemmed from an encounter with the police on April 6. During which officers with the San Angelo Police Department found ecstasy, THC oil in a cartridge and a stolen hand gun. Rock was on probation at the time for theft of a firearm which occurred in 2019.

While out on bond for this charge, on Aug. 7, Rock was joyriding in his red Ford Mustang posting that he was selling cocaine, marijuana, hashish and psilocybin mushrooms. An officer with the anti-gang unit saw the post.

The following day the anti-gang unit found the vehicle on 19th St. and Hudson driving recklessly and attempted to pull the vehicle over. Instead of pulling over, Rock attempted to flee from the police. Rock ended up crashing at 14th St. and Brown and managed to get away on foot. 

The following day a warrant was issued for his arrest and on Aug. 9, Rock was booked into the Tom Green County Jail for going off bond theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana over 2 ounces, possession of marijuana over four ounces but less than five pounds, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance penalty group two between one and four grams, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance penalty group two between four and four hundred grams, possession of a controlled substance penalty group two more than one gram, evading arrest, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, someone under 15-year-old in a vehicle without a seatbelt, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tobacco by someone under the age of 21.

Then on Nov. 6, the 51st District Attorney's Office also charged Rock with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Court documents state that on May 23, Rock pulled a gun on someone and threatened to kill them. This made made his bond at an overall $96,592. 

On Dec. 2, Rock was sentenced to six years in prison after he pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault, manufacture and delivery and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

In the aggravated assault case the district attorney's office listed two codefendants. The first is Cecilia Guerrero. Guerrero has been in the Tom Green County Jail multiple times on charges like burglary and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance since the jail has opened. The second codefendant is Nathaniel Molina. Molina is currently in the Tom Green County Jail after an incident where he allegedly went to Central High School with a gun and had sex with a child on the same day. He is currently 20-years-old. 

Molina is currently charged with sexual assault of a child, unlawful carrying of a weapon in a prohibited place and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond is set at $80,000.
