Police Investigate Aggravated Golden Chick Robbery

 

Another fried chicken shop was robbed at gunpoint last night, marking the third robbery of a chicken joint this year. 

San Angelo police report that at least two men are being sought in connection to the robbery, which occurred just after 10 p.m. Tuesday at the store's 2602 Sherwood Way location. 

When officers arrived, police learned from employees of the fast-food restaurant that two men had entered the store and demanded money from workers at gunpoint. The suspects collected an unspecified sum of cash before fleeing the shop, police said.

No injuries were reported in the robbery and no customers were present when the incident took place. The suspects were described as men wearing dark clothing, who had their faces covered by bandanas.   

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division also responded to investigate the incident.  At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with this robbery.

Last week, On Oct. 29, Rooster's Chickin and Fixin's was robbed at gunpoint at 2001 W. Harris Street. Two suspects were also involved in the Rooster's heist, both believed to be males wearing masks, gloves and clothing that covered their entire bodies.

On May 20, Michael Anthony Martinez approached an employee leaving the Chicken Express at 2831 N. Bryant Blvd. and, brandishing a handgun, demanded the night's deposit. Martinez was jailed that night for aggravated robbery and a slew of other charges and has remained in the Tom Green County Jail since.

The Fried Chicken Gang strikes again? They're awfully bold to do this fairly early on very busy streets. Thank goodness for video cameras. They'll be behind bars before long. Criminals are morons.
