West Texas Football Star Hospitalized Following Gruesome Crash

 

ABILENE, TX – Former Midland Robert E. Lee Rebel and Current Abilene Christian University Quarterback Sema'J Davis was airlifted to the Metroplex over the weekend following a head-on crash. 

According to CBS7, on Thursday, Oct. 8, officers with the Abilene Police Department were dispatched to Abilene Christian University for the report of a major crash involving multiple vehicles.

When they arrived they found a three vehicle accident were multiple people were injured. One of the people was injured in the crash was ACU's Quarterback Sema’J Davis.

Davis and three others were injured in the crash. 

ACU released a statement regarding the crash:

He was airlifted from Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

“Abilene Christian University football player Sema’J Davis was involved in a traffic accident overnight in Abilene less than a mile from campus when the vehicle he was driving was struck by another car. He was airlifted from Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. There were no passengers in the car. Our prayers are with his family, friends, the ACU athletic department and the entire ACU community at this time. This is an ongoing situation, and this is all we can report at this time.”

After investigating the crash, Police determined that a driver ran a red light and crashed into a vehicle before driving into oncoming traffic and hitting Davis' car.

A go fundme has been set up to help pay for medical bills for Davis.
