Construction Worker Injured In Crash on Hwy 277

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A crash left a construction worker injured on Hwy 277 late Monday afternoon.

San Angelo Live reporters observed a two-vehicle crash just north of the Goodyear Proving Grounds.

Preliminary details of the crash seem to suggest vehicles traveling in opposite directions on Hwy 277 crashed in the same area where construction workers working with TxDOT were redirecting traffic.

Traffic was being diverted in the high-speed area as workers continue the road construction in that area. Travel had been reduced to one lane before the accident.

The worker was appeared to be visibly injured. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.

This is a developing story. Details will be released as they become available.

Correction: A previous version of this story identified the worker as a TxDOT worker. He has now been identified as a contracted worker of an independent company assisting TxDOT with the road repairs.
