Traffic Snarled As Stalled Oversized Load Blocked Traffic on US-277

SAN ANGELO, TX – Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies diverted traffic in east San Angelo near the US-67/US-277 split after an oversized load apparently shifted blocking the southbound lane of traffic.

Reporters at the scene said there were two tractor-trailers carrying large 'I' beams and the load seemed to shift on one of the trucks blocking traffic.

The southbound lane of US-277 was blocked as a Tom Green County Constable joined Texas Department of Public Safety troopers joined deputies to divert traffic around the area.

Radio reports indicated they had called for a forklift to assist with reloading the 'I' beam.

No one was injured but traffic was diverted for a time Thursday morning.
