ABILENE, TX — A grass fire near Sea Bee Park in Abilene required the assistance of multiple fire departments on Wednesday afternoon.
According to KTXS, the Abilene Fire Department, the Texas A&M Forest Service, and the volunteer fire departments for Anson and Hawley were all on the scene to combat the fire.
Residents who live in the area of CR 355 and Westlake Road/FM 600 were called home to help firefighters relocate animals and livestock as the volunteers battled the flames.
"Horses, ducks, dogs, rabbits. You name it, we've got it," said one homeowner.
The cause of the fire is unknown and as of a few hours ago no homes had been damaged and no injuries were reported.

... I know it's dry ... not much rainfall so far this year ... but it seems to me like someone is intentionally going around from county to county starting these wildfires ... I mean ... every year when it's dry as it's been so far ... there have always been a few ... but there has been more this year so far in a small amount of time! Seems very suspicious is all I'm saying ... and Jeff ... if this rant gets published ... you will undoubtedly see it and read it ... so in my defense to your idiotic question ... the answer definitely a "No, I do not live in my car.... and your question amuses me... and further more ... if I did live in my car ... what business is it of yours? You are proving more & more... that narrow minded, short mental range you have to everyone. So ... if you don't want to do me any favors... do yourself one youngman and do not read any comments I make in this rant section! Have a pleasant day, and I honestly wish you well in life and do yourself a favor as I suggested and stop proving to others that you have a one track mind which is to aggravate & an agitate!
