AEP Confirms Thursday Power Outage Caused by Downed Power Line

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – AEP Texas officials confirmed Friday the reason there was a widespread power outage Thursday. 

According to Fred Hernandez, Manager and Community Affairs Director at AEP Texas, the outage occurred Thursday when a power line went down on Old Knickerbocker Road.

The line was found when firefighters with the San Angelo Fire Department were dispatched behind Bubba's Smokehouse for the report of a grass fire. When the call came in three different locations were given. One on Gunter, one on Ben Ficklin and one on Ave N.

AEP confirmed on April 24 that the power line was the reason for the outage. Crews got the line stable and fixed. Power was restored to the city late Thursday afternoon.
