Crockett County Wildfire Burns 10,000 Acres

OZONA, TX – A wildfire in Crockett County has spread to over 10,000 acres since Sunday. 

According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, on April 19, firefighters with the TAMFS were called in to fight a wildfire along with Crockett County firefighters near Holcomb Road at around 7 p.m.

When they arrived, the firefighters discovered a fire that had burned 700 acres and was 0% contained. 

After 24 hours of fighting the fire was 5% contained and had burned 10,000 acres. 

Crews are still attempting to contain the fire. 

The cause of the wildfire has not been determined.
