SAN ANGELO, TX – An 18-year-old San Angelo man was arrested Saturday after police say he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl and recorded it on his phone.
According to the affidavit, on February 28, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were alerted of a child who made an outcry of sexual assault.
When officers met with the child she stated that when she was 14-years-old she was sexually assaulted by 18-year-old Sergio Mendoza. She claimed he recorded the assault on his cell phone.
When officers met with Mendoza he admitted to recording the two while he sexually assaulted the child. Poilce then searched his phone and found the videos and images depicting the assault.
Mendoza was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child. He was released then following day after posting a $15,000 surety bond.
