18-Year-Old Dies After Colliding with Concrete Pillar

 

LORAINE, TX -- A crash on I-20 Sunday left one person dead after a car crashed into a cement pillar. 

At around 1:00 p.m. the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a single vehicle crash just one mile East of Loraine. 

The 2011 Ford F-350 Pickup was traveling East on I-20 in the left lane where it veered left striking a guardrail. It then continued through the center median and struck a concrete pillar of the overpass at County Road 424.

The driver has been identified as 18-year-old Colton Scopel of Alvin, TX. He was pronounced dead on the scene and the body was taken to Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City.
