MASON, TX -- Nearly two months after leading the Mason Punchers to the school's second state title, senior quarterback Otto Wofford has announced his plans for college.
On Tuesday, the 6-1 QB announced via Twitter that he was going to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to play football "and possibly baseball" after graduation.
"All glory to the man upstairs," Wofford tweeted. "I can't thank God, coaches, and my family enough for getting to where I am today."
Mary Hardin-Baylor is fresh off a 24-16 win over Mount Union to cap off an undefeated, national championship season. It was the program's second national championship.
Wofford was our selection as All-Concho Valley MVP after adding a lethal passing attack to Mason's stout ground game.
The senior shined on the big stage of AT&T Stadium in Arlington during the Class 2A Division I state championship against New Deal. Wofford was 13-of-16 passing for 159 yards. He also picked up 71 yards and a touchdown on nine rushes in the win.
Wofford was also a staple in Mason's state-best defense, intercepting six passes and breaking up another three. He also had 57 total tackles for the Punchers.
