Midland Man Sentenced For Hiring Hitman to Kill Three People

MIDLAND, TX— A Midland man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after he tried to hire a hitman to kill three people.

Barry Eddleman, 54, thought he gave $4,000 dollars to a hitman who turned out to be an undercover Department of Public Safety agent.

According to CBS 7, Eddleman met the agent with the cash and said that he wanted three people dead whom he’d had an ongoing business dispute with.

Eddleman stated that he wanted the deaths to look like an accident or suicide. He then gave the agent exact descriptions of who the targets where.

Agents arrested him by setting up a meeting with Eddleman to discuss the job being finished.

"As a result of the hard work of District Attorney Investigators and DPS agents, Eddleman’s scheme was ended without any harm to the intended victims or their families," stated the DA's office in a nerws release.

Eddleman was sentenced to 25 years for three counts of Solicitation of Capital Murder.
