Nissan Driver Runs Stop Sign and Gets Hammered by Hummer

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Five people in a white Nissan Maxima escaped injury Thursday afternoon when the driver disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of S. Concho Drive and S. Abe St.

The intersection is controlled by stop signs on Concho and a flashing yellow light on Abe after a fatal accident a few months ago.

According to San Angelo Police Department investigating officer Welch the Nissan driver failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of black Hummer H3 SUV.

The Hummer slammed into the Nissan causing damage to the front end of the car.

Officer Welch says there were no serious injuries.

The driver of the Nissan was cited for failure to yield the right of way.  Two lanes of traffic on S. Abe St. were blocked until the crash was cleared.
