Mail Truck Goes Up in Flames in Grape Creek and Residents’ Mail Burns With It!

 

Grape Creek, TX -- Volunteer Firefighters from Grape Creek and Carlsbad tried desperately to save a U.S. Mail vehicle engulfed in fire Wednesday afternoon.  

According to Firefighters who responded to the scene at Mt. Nebo Rd. and Chaparral Rd. at 4:40 p.m.,  the vehicle which belongs to an independent contractor with the U.S. Postal Service was fully engulfed when they arrived.  

The vehicle was in the middle of the road and was destroyed by the fire along with the mail in it.  

No one was injured in the fire, but the mail, which could have included government retirement checks like social security and medicare checks, was destroyed in the fire.
