Oversized Load Damages Odessa Overpass

ODESSA, TX — A bridge southwest of Odessa was hit Friday afternoon and will be closed for assessment until further notice, according to News West 9.

TxDOT in Odessa released the following statement, “WB I-20 to be closed for inspection after an oversized load crunched FM 866 overpass.”

The FM overpass will be closed until assessment can be made to make sure the overpass is still safe to cross or if it will need to be repaired before vehicles can cross again safely.

People are encouraged to use exit 104 to go around and avoid the area if possible.
