AEP Workers Save the Cinch Chute Out and the Rodeo Saturday

Power was restored in time for the last performance of the 2018 San Angelo rodeo.  Reporters in the rodeo say Rodeo announcer Boyd Polhamus credited AEP workers, congratulating them for their 'Cowboy Effort' in restoring electricity.

San Angelo Officials expect electricity to be restored to the Coliseum and Fairgrounds within an hour.  Power should be on in time for the Rodeo Performance.  

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A Ford F250 traveling at a high rate of speed took out two power poles on Lake Drive near Humble Rd. in north San Angelo knocking out power to over 2200 customers.  

San Angelo Police are investigating a crash where a Ford F-250 took out the power poles in north San Angelo in the vicinity of the San Angelo Coliseum.  While the stock show and rodeo are underway, there is no information currently linking the driver of the crash to the stock show and rodeo.  

According to a reporter on the scene, the pickup also took out a gas line.  The driver may have been suffering a medical condition.  

AEP West Texas is reporting that 2236 locations are without electricity in the vicinity including some traffic lights.  

Officials are urging caution in the vicinity of Lake Dr., 29th St., Humble Rd., and N. Chadbourne St. heading to the coliseum and fairgrounds.
