Fast Moving Schleicher County Wildfire Contained

Christoval, TX -- Firefighters last night contained the Schleicher County wildfire according to the Christoval Volunteer Fire Department.

“Christoval Volunteer Fire Department units are home safe for the evening from the Schleicher County fire. Texas Forest Service was cutting fire guards when we left with 3 bulldozers. This was a fast moving fire in heavy fuel. Thanks for all the help and offers for help. We are blessed with a good crew and good equipment to operate.” Was posted on their website last night.

The fire started Wednesday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m. according to reports when someone was welding.
