CALLAHAN COUNTY — An El Paso woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon after a semi's tire blew out.
According to local media, officers with the Department of Public Safety stated that an 18-wheeler was traveling west down I-20 when one of the tires blew out. The blowout caused the 18-wheeler to jack knife and cross into the eastbound lanes where it stuck an oncoming vehicle.
The oncoming vehicle was transporting Kimberly Belinda Carrillo, 46, of El Paso. Carrillo was pronounced dead at the scene near mile marker 314 just after 1 p.m. on Sunday.
This crash is still under investigation.
