SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- Shortly after 9 a.m this morning, a red Jeep and a Chevy Suburban collided at the intersection of Jackson and Knickerbocker, in front of Raising Cane's.
Both San Angelo Police Department (SAPD) officers and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responded to the accident.
The Chevy Suburban was eastbound on Knickerbocker, while the red Jeep was westbound on Knickerbocker. The suburban was attempting to make a left turn on Jackson when it collided with the Jeep. According to a police officer on-scene, the suburban did have a green light, but did not have a protected green arrow.
The driver of the suburban was transported to Community Hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the Jeep claimed injury, but stated to on-scene officers that she would go to the hospital via personal vehicle.
The driver of the Chevy suburban has been issued a Failure to Yield Right of Way, Left Turn citation.

Once again, we have a traffic impeding emergency and the SAPD FAILS to use it's magical NIXLE System to inform the public or other emergency response entities.
And were going to abandon the SIREN SYSTEM to rust NIXLE protocol for STORM WARNING..... SIGH.
