SAN ANGELO, TX - Since Friday, 73 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail for a variety of crimes. However, the crimes to top the list were alcohol, assault and drug related.
Out of the 73 arrests, 38 people were booked for new crimes, and 19 of those were alcohol related, eight were assault related and 17 were drug related.
In the first category, 10 people were arrested for Public Intoxication, and nine for DWI. In the second category, six people went to jail for Assault Causes Bodily Injury, one for Assault Family Violence, and one for assaulting a public servant. As for the drug category, six people were booked for possession of marijuana, eight for possession of a controlled substance, and three for possession and/or delivery of drug paraphernalia.
In addition to new crimes, 35 people were booked in the TGCJ for outstanding warrants; out of those arrested, nine people had new complaints added to the mix. Drugs and alcohol also topped the list of warrant-related arrests.
