Fire Marshal's Office Investigates Early Morning Fire for Possible Arson

At this time, San Angelo firefighters are tackling a fire on Bryan and Cecil, and law enforcement is asking people to avoid the area because they are diverting traffic.

Currently, there is still a lot of smoke, but the teams out at the scene have begun the overhaul phase. They are tackling hotspots.

Update 9:30 a.m.

Thomas Truitt, an investigator with the Fire Marshal's office, said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it started in an out building on the southeast corner of the main house at 1317 Bryan.

"We've been looking at that," Truitt said. "We have some samples we'll send off to the arson lab to check whether there's anything present or not."

Truitt said the original call came in approximately at 7:45 a.m.

Firefighters used foam that helps penetrate the ordinary combustibles, so they could get a better extinguishment of those ordinary combustibles in the structure, said Truitt.

Currently, Truitt said he is conducting witness interviews. There was one occupant in the home, but she got out without any injuries.

Cecil doesn't intersect Bryant.

And if you think that's confusing, wait until something happens at 19th and Briant. Or one of the three streets called Willow.
