A Honda and Ford Collide on Loop 306 and Ben Ficklin

Another fail-to-yield decision by a San Angelo driver resulted in a collision on Ben Ficklin and the Loop 306 access road.

At about 6:20 p.m., right before the thunderstorm moved in, Officer Espinoza, with the San Angelo Police Department, said the driver of a Ford pickup was traveling southbound on Ben Ficklin Road, while a driver of a silver Honda was traveling north, trying to turn east onto the Loop 306 access road. The Honda, however, failed to yield the right of way turning left and pulled directly in front of the Ford pickup. As a result, the vehicles collided.

Officer Espinoza said there were minor injuries, and a passenger in the pickup was transported to an area hospital by personal vehicle.

“The driver of the Honda Civic was cited for failing to yield the right of way turning left,” he added.

The crash caused a delay of traffic in the area, and many drivers were re-routed as first responders cleared the area.
